Kelani Eldar and Patrice Bolton-Johnson from the Del Paso Heights Farmer's Market talk about the Mutual Assistance Network. This very special Farmer's Market has all the tradional elements of a typical farmer's market , but this market is extra special and excepts WIC and EBT cards, making locally grown fresh fruits and veggies available to all. This show also features a performance by the cast from California Stage's " The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the Moon- Marigolds" featuring Deborah Shalhoub, Jackie O'Brien, and Carissa Meagher.

6-11-08 Veterans History Project and Planned Parenthood




This week we are joined by R.S.V.P. (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) Gail Hoberman and Laureen Anderson, and we have the honor of premiering the trailer for "The Veterans History Project". They have collected the stories of veterans of all ages including a Marine Veteran from Desert Storm and Advocate for Equal Rights for Gay Veterans, Ray Allen, who also joined us on the show. Also, durring the show our guest was Kathyrn McLearan form Planned Parenthood. She shared information about the non-profit organization and we talked about the "Facts of Life Line" where poeple can learn about womens health.
